Sports-Pilgrimage Route

The Sports-Pilgrimage-Rroute leads around the oldest pilgrimage site on the Lower Rhine.

It is a cycling and hiking trail likewise through the left bank of the Rhine in the district of Ginderich. The destination is St Mary's Assumption Church with the miraculous image of "Mary, Queen of Peace". Since 2011, the village can be circumnavigated and explored on the approximately 7 km long sports pilgrimage route. In addition to Ginderich, the route runs through the farming communities of Perrich and Werrich as well as along the Rhine.

A highlight for children is the water playground at the "Pettenkaul" excavation site. The excavating company Hülskens has built a wonderful rest and play area there for families and children.
