Lower Rhine Route
The Lower Rhine Route offers the densest network of cycle paths in Europe.
With a total length of more than 2,000 kilometres, the Lower Rhine Route is Germany's longest cycle route network, which also takes cyclists through Wesel. The cycle path network stretches between Emmerich in the north, Übach-Palenberg in the south, Niederkrüchten in the west and Schermbeck in the east.
The route leads cyclists through fields and forests and along the Rhine and, of course, through the beautiful and, above all, varied Lower Rhine landscape. It opens up the cycle-friendly region away from busy roads via towpaths, tarmac farm tracks and quiet forest paths. The many connecting paths along the route create a dense network, so that cycle tours of any desired length can be experienced.
