Keer-Tröch-Route
Experience the Lower Rhine from its most beautiful side by bike!
We start at the Wesel Citadel. Once built to protect the Rhine crossing, it now houses a whole range of cultural institutions such as the music and art school and artists' studios.
The route leads over the new, imposing Lower Rhine Bridge to the other side of the Rhine to the remains of the old railway bridge. After a short detour to the pilgrimage village of Ginderich, the route returns to the dyke. Here you have a marvellous view of the Rhine and the Bislicher Insel nature reserve. You can cross the river again using the Keer Tröch II passenger ferry and then cycle back to Wesel via the stork village of Bislich and through a unique meadow landscape.
