A short but exciting jaunt away from the actual Hohe Mark cycle route is the wonderful Rhine-Meadow loop in Wesel.

The circular route, which is ideal as a day trip and has a total length of 25 kilometres, leads from Wesel via Bislicher Insel to Xanten. You then take the ferry across the Rhine and from Bislich back to the starting point in Wesel. This is just the right thing for a short break to explore the nature park by bike!
